District Attorney Offers New Automated Bogus Check Collection Service
New online service uses the collection power of the District Attorney without the paperwork
Claremore, OK; March 19, 2007 - District Attorney Gene Haynes announced today that his office is offering a new service to victims of bogus checks. The Stop Loss service provides merchants in Craig, Mayes and Rogers counties with automated bogus check processing.
"This service provides our area merchants the latest check processing technology and combines it with the strength of our collection power. We believe this system will appeal to any size company because they no longer need to complete paperwork and deliver the checks to us to utilize our service," according to Gene Haynes, District Attorney.
Stop Loss delivers proven online technology along with a systematic process designed to make returned check collection easy and simple for the merchant and check writer. The Stop Loss process starts courteously whereby the check writer is given concise instructions on how to make restitution without DA fees being added. If, however, the check writer ignores the notification, the DA fees will be added with the promise of prosecution should he fail to make timely restitution.
Merchants who enroll in Stop Loss will be given access to a secure website where they can check the collection status of all their returned checks. Merchants who can benefit from the service cover a wide range of business types including convenience stores, restaurants, retail, supermarkets, dental offices and pizza delivery. Merchants who do not enroll in Stop Loss can still utilize the District Attorneys office to collect their bogus check, but without the automation.
"The key advantage merchants are seeing from enrolling in Stop Loss is that they enjoy higher collection rates without any paperwork. They make deposits as usual. All returned checks are automatically scanned into transmodus for processing. The DA office manages the process through an online interface. The merchant has secure online access to view report and reconcile payments. Stop Loss is not only effective and efficient but it is a very courteous customer service oriented process for the merchant and the check writers," says Stan Templeton, transmodus Stop Loss Consultant.
The Stop Loss service is powered by transmodus, a leader in online check processing automation.
