Stop Loss®

The Stop Loss program, powered by transmodus, provides merchants with an automated process to leverage the collection power of District Attorney Offices in over 9,000 zip codes across the United States.
Here is how it works:
Using Stop Loss a merchant signs up and is issued a web site to view in-process and payment reports. They also instruct their bank to route their returned checks for Stop Loss processing. This
"paperless" process eliminates the usual DA requirement for the merchant to complete and submit a form for each check submitted.
Once a check is routed for Stop Loss processing, the data and image is imported directly into transmodus. Eligible (NSF) checks follow a rule-based process that starts with a courtesy letter (on DA office letterhead) instructing the check writer to fund their account to pay the check and service fee electronically.
If a check remains unpaid, a series of letters that adds exact DA fees at the appropriate stage assigns an ID number to a bar coded coupon identifying that check writer in the transmodus database.
Stop Loss is offered to merchants nationally by Heartland Payment Systems. The service is also integrated with the leading prosecution management solutions nationally to exchange data providing district attorney offices with seamless returned check processing.
The Stop Loss process greatly improves the efficiency of the DA collection process for merchants of any size.
